Connecting Your X Account
Learn how to connect your X (Twitter) account to replyboss and start engaging.
To use replyboss, you need to connect at least one X (Twitter) account. This guide walks you through the connection process.
Prerequisites
Before connecting your X account, ensure:
- You have an active X (Twitter) account
- You're logged into your X account in your browser
- You have a replyboss account (free or paid)
Connecting Your First X Account
Step 1: Navigate to Accounts
From your replyboss dashboard:
- Click Accounts in the sidebar (look for the X logo)
- You'll see the Accounts settings page
Step 2: Start the Connection
- Click the Connect X Account button
- You'll be redirected to X (Twitter) for authorization
Step 3: Authorize replyboss
On the X authorization page:
- Review the permissions replyboss is requesting
- Click Authorize app to grant access
- You'll be redirected back to replyboss
Step 4: Verify Connection
Once connected, your X account will appear in the accounts list showing:
- Your profile picture
- Your username (@handle)
- Connection status
Managing Multiple X Accounts
Depending on your plan, you can connect multiple X accounts:

Switching Between Accounts
When you have multiple accounts connected:
- Use the account selector dropdown at the top of each feature page
- Select the account you want to work with
- All data will update to show that account's information
Disconnecting an Account
To remove an X account:
- Go to Accounts in the sidebar
- Find the account you want to disconnect
- Click the Disconnect button
- Confirm the disconnection
Note: Disconnecting an account will remove all saved handles and data associated with that account from replyboss.
Troubleshooting
Connection Failed
If the connection fails:
- Make sure you're logged into the correct X account
- Try clearing your browser cookies
- Disable any ad blockers or privacy extensions temporarily
- Try again in an incognito/private window
Permission Denied
If you see a permission error:
- Ensure your X account is not restricted or suspended
- Check that you haven't reached your account limit for your plan
- Contact support if the issue persists
What Permissions Does replyboss Need?
replyboss requests the following permissions:
- Read tweets - To find and analyze conversations
- Read profile - To display your account information
- Post tweets - To post replies you approve (you always review first)
- Follow/unfollow - To follow accounts from the Follow feature
replyboss never posts without your explicit approval.
